Welcome to Blackhawk Country

The members of the Port Edwards Public School Community believe that we offer a unique and competitive educational opportunity. Nestled along the Wisconsin River our village and surrounding townships offer a family friendly atmosphere. We serve our youth and residents through a beautiful park system, intercity bike trails, and a community YMCA.

This small suburban school district has a dedicated staff and an open flexible attitude toward instructional innovation. These qualities are key and allow us to address the academic and social needs of every student in an academy-like atmosphere.

ES Summer School

July 6-31, 2015 (4 weeks, Monday-Friday)
Students in grades 4K-5 may attend grade level classes from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Exploratory classes for grades K-5 will run from 12:30-3:00 p.m. All students that attend summer school, and their siblings, will be offered free meals, including a “Grab and Go” breakfast and lunch, daily. It’s a great opportunity for students to keep their skills sharp and have fun at the same time.

Before and After School Care

Port Edwards School District offers before and after school care for elementary school students. At the end of each school day, Port Edwards Elementary hosts a site for the Boys and Girls Club of the Greater Wisconsin Rapids Area. Students aged 6-12 may attend activities from 3:12-6:00 p.m. Membership fee is $10 per year.

Stuff the Bus/Desk Campaign

Do you know a child who will need school supplies for the 2015-2016 school year? Plan on attending Stuff the Desk on Saturday, August 15, 2015.

New this year! To participate, families will need to fill out the registration form on the back of the flyer and turn it in to the United Way at 351 Oak Street between May 1st and August 1st.  If you are in need of a form, they are available in the Port Edwards Elementary Office or the John Edwards MS/HS office.

Our Policy

It is the policy of the School District of Port Edwards that no person may be denied admission to any public school in this district or be denied participation in, be denied benefits of, or be discriminated against in any curricular, extracurricular, pupil service, recreational, or other program or activity because of the person’s sex, national origin, color, ancestry, creed, pregnancy, marital or parental status, sexual orientation, or physical, mental, emotional, or learning disability or handicap, as required by s.118.13, Wis. This policy also prohibits discrimination as defined by Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (sex), Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (race and national origin), and section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Any questions concerning this policy should be directed to the District Administrator of the Port Edwards Public Schools.
