Welcome to Blackhawk Country

The members of the Port Edwards Public School Community believe that we offer a unique and competitive educational opportunity. Nestled along the Wisconsin River our village and surrounding townships offer a family friendly atmosphere. We serve our youth and residents through a beautiful park system, intercity bike trails, and a community YMCA.

This small suburban school district has a dedicated staff and an open flexible attitude toward instructional innovation. These qualities are key and allow us to address the academic and social needs of every student in an academy-like atmosphere.

By the numbers:

The state testing results for the Badger Exam and the ACT administered last year have just recently been made public.  Congratulations to the students and staff of the Port Edwards School District, you have much to be proud of in these results:

BADGER EXAM:

State test in 2015 that measured the proficiency level in both math and English/Language Arts (ELA) for students in grades 3-8.  Our students were at the top of all public schools in terms of the percentage of students advanced or proficient in Wood County and at the top of our athletic conference, the  Central Wisconsin Conference.

JA Business Challenge

Another year of the JA Business Challenge and another great showing for Port.

Competing for Port were 11 students divided into four teams.  Each team did well in the morning rounds and overall but two stood above the rest.  Mason Fellowes, Will Stewart, and Christopher Shields took 2nd place overall and are moving to the state competition in Sheboygan on April 28th.  David Smith and Sadie Sweeney won the Marketing Challenge and created the best 30 second PSA for JA.  They will be going to Midwest Communications to shadow the DJ’s for a day as well as record their commercial to be played in Central Wisconsin.
Congrats to all the teams who competed and made JEHS proud.
