SCHOOL WELLNESS

This policy supports the mission of the School District of Port Edwards to provide an environment that cultivates maximum student potential.  To afford students the opportunity to fully participate in the educational process, students must attend school with minds and bodies ready to take advantage of their learning environment.  Decisions made in all school programming need to reflect and encourage positive nutrition and wellness messages.

The Port Edwards School District encourages all members of the school community to help create an environment for students that supports lifelong wellness habits that include nutrition and adequate exercise.

In order to create and maintain an environment which supports and teaches healthy eating habits as well as physical activity, unified efforts between the food service department, health teachers and physical education teachers will be supported.
